SUPPORT AT HOME

Unfortunately, there is a huge waiting list for the daily activities at Eber. To reach out to parents who are on this list, we launched a ‘Home Based Intervention’ program in 2006. Parents with profoundly disabled children receive support at home in caring for their children.

Children with profound disabilities have their own possibilities for development. Using small signals, they communicate their needs. It makes a world of difference when the people around them understand what a smile or muscular movement is meant to communicate.

The workers in our ‘Home Based Intervention’ program visit the families of these special children. First, they find out what the child is capable of doing. Afterwards, the worker supports the family in finding the needed care and activities. The programs offers parents acknowledgment, support and encouragement to keep caring for their children at home.
